"Companies integrate refugees" network
The BIW is also involved with the integration of refugees and offers them an opportunity to integration through job vacancies.
Following completion of a four-week orientation placement, we were able to employ a member of staff from Afghanistan and one from Bangladesh. We are still in the placement phase with a possible new employee from Eritrea. The placement was made via the VHS Gevelsberg, which offers language and integration courses to refugees.
Over 700 companies have already registered for the "Companies integrate refugees" network. In a joint dialogue, companies develop options as to how they, as committed companies, can best meet the challenges of the integration process. The network provides information on legal issues, integration initiatives and voluntary commitment. It also offers practical advice on the integration of refugees in training and employment and facilitates an exchange of experience and cooperation between the companies.
