FIBREGLASS: DIMENSIONALLY STABLE AND FLEXIBLE

There are virtually no limits to BIW?s expertise in braided, woven and knitted structures in the textile glass sector. With its own braiding department, the company produces an array of variations. BIW also meets the highest demands for pre- and aftertreatments. As an alternative to braiding, BIW also has modern weaving and knitting machines to produce a wide range of hoses and seals. One prime example of what is possible are silicone-coated, highly flexible fibreglass sleeves, which, in spite of their pronounced elasticity, react to any kind of compression with an impressive resilience.

The braided and knitted structures based on the most different types of fibreglass and yarns are refined in subsequent treatment stages through coating or impregnation. The hoses manufactured in this way are:

• Resistant to high temperatures up to +500 °C
• Flexible in extremely cold temperatures down to ?80 °C
• Permanently elastic and capable of taking mechanical loads
• Essentially resistant to chemicals
• Ecologically harmless
