COMPACT 1/2024 INNOVATION AT A GLANCE EDITORIAL Dear Partners and Friends of BIW, With a slight delay, but all the more news, we are back with our first newsletter of 2024. After a successful year in 2023 and a slow start in 2024, we used the time to push ahead with our developments. Under the motto “When it comes to competence,” we made it our mission last year to further expand our technological capabilities. We were able to significantly expand our portfolio in the area of silicone compounds and delved a lot deeper into the chemistry of how compounds are created – both technologically and scienti- fically. Our range of pressure hoses has also been optimized and new products have been added. We are particularly focused on working with partners who have special expertise that can be combined with our product range. One example of this is our cooperation with the company Nord- star, through which we are able to offer a complete package in the area of silicone LED profiles. This package includes not only the profiles, but also consulting, the appropriate LEDs, and the corresponding power supplies. We would be happy to provide you with a personalized offer! _ BEHDAD ASSADOLLAHZADEH SOLID-CORE HOSE WITH HIGH-STRENGTH POLYESTER REINFORCEMENT This reverse-braided pressure hose is reinforced with a high-strength polyester rein- forcement, which makes it extremely durable and pressure-resistant. Polyester reinforce- ment provides exceptional stability and enables safe use even at very high operating pressures. This design still allows the hose to remain flexible and stretchable due to its small bending radius compared to conventional silicone pressure hoses with fabric reinforcement, making it ideal for dynamic applications in a wide range of industries. The trade fair provided a platform for companies throughout the silicone supply chain to showcase their latest products, innovations, and solutions. It was interesting and informative – but the question is whether such a trade fair really needs to be held every year. Dear Apprentices, we warmly welcome you to our BIW family and hope that you have a richly educational and exciting apprenticeship with us. _ PIA GROTE RETIREMENT Ms. Christiane Ilgenstein and Mr. Yücel Tanriverdi are leaving the BIW team after more than 10 and 20 years, respectively, to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. Ms. Ilgenstein and Mr. Tanriverdi were not only reliable and conscien- tious employees, but also always helpful and friendly colleagues.
