03 Standard LSR in comparisonThe technical expertise of BIW has increased further with the employment of two engineers since 1 August 2015. Following the successful conclusion of their Bachelor theses, Marc Bernhard and Thomas Gruschka are now able to help to support the corporate success full time. The two young engineers are charged with technical production-supporting tasks in various functions. BIW considers itself a development partner for all customers, particularly with respect to optical projects, and is primarily capable of supporting interdisciplinary application technology and production due to the collaboration of the various involved divisions. Lately, BIW has further reinforced its position as world market leader in silicone processing in the context of several development projects for automotive and medical applications and an internal Bachelor thesis pertaining to the ”optical silicone“ subject. First achievements have already been registered also in the combination of optical and standard material in the extrusion process.
